How to use advanced search tools

Looking to up your music searching game a little bit? Great, these quick tips will help you navigate our catalogue like the very best music supervisors.

Alternate Versions

To find a track's alternate versions, all you need to do is click the number to the right of the heart icon by the track title

You can also access this by clicking the i icon to the right of the track, or next to the track description

It's also possible to find versions via the player at the bottom of the screen. The versions menu is just above the BPM to the right of the waveform.

Another great way to find alternate versions is by selecting All Versions in the left-hand panel of our Music Search. This is great for finding Instrumentals, Underscores, Cutdowns, Stings and more.

Lyrics

If a track has lyrics, they will appear in the Lyrics tab when you click the i icon next to any track.

You can search our catalogue by lyrics too. Just type a word or phrase (e.g. Summer) and select Lyrics instead of Keywords in the menu underneath the searchbar.

For the next section, it's worth opening our Music Search in a new tab for reference...

Label, Tempo, BPM & Duration Filters

The left-hand side of our search tool helps filter your results. Here you can select a Label to filter by, as well as Tempo, BPM and Duration.

When filtering tempo, you can select a single tempo to include, or you can exclude one or more tempos.

Move the sliders to set a range for BPM and Duration. You'll get more results for shorter cutdowns by having All Versions toggled. More on that next...

Oh, and remember to click the X or Reset when you're done!

All Versions Toggle

Toggle between Mains Only and All Versions on the left-hand side of our search tool to cast the net wider, or refine your results.

Mains Only is the default, but we'd recommend that you switch to All Versions if you're looking for instrumentals, underscores, cutdowns and stings.

You can use search terms like Underscore, Bed, Link and Sting for this, and filter further with the duration sliders.

Track, Album & Playlist Views

You can filter search by Track, Album or Playlist with our search tool. To choose which, click one of the three square icons found underneath the search on the right-hand side.

Each will display your search slightly differently. Track view is default as it's the most logical way to find music quickly, but Album and Playlist view may be helpful for browsing.

Another great way to discover music around a theme is by exploring our range of Collections
